U.S. Could Join Israel In Air-Launch Satellites
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States could join Israel in efforts to
develop technology to launch satellites from fixed-wing aircraft.
The Defense Department could join Israel in a U.S. program to
develop an airborne satellite launch system. The Pentagon's Defense
Advanced Research Projects Agency has called for outside help to produce a
prototype of a system that could launch satellites of up to 100 pounds, or
30 kilograms, from aircraft.
