U.S. Maintains Anti-Riot Exports To Egypt
LONDON [MENL] -- The United States has continued security exports to Egypt
despite criticism over their use.
Amnesty International reported that the State Department approved
exports of anti-riot and other security equipment to Egyptian forces in 2011
amid alleged human rights abuses. Amnesty said Egypt, the second largest
recipient of U.S. military aid, received three shipments of weapons and
munitions between April and October.
