GCC Urged To Build Nuke Power Network
ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The Gulf Cooperation Council has been urged to construct
a regional nuclear power grid.
Industry sources said Western and other consultants were advising the
six GCC states -- most of whom have launched their own programs -- to form a
regional nuclear energy network. The sources said the consultants argued
that this would save money, eliminate duplication and increase efficiency.
"The fact that a political decision has been taken is extremely
significant anyway," Nigel Blackaby, a power industry consultant, said.
