Jordan Ready To Acquire More F-16s
LONDON [MENL] -- Jordan was concluding an agreement to procure
additional F-16 multi-role fighters.
Under the negotiations, Jordan would acquire nine F-16A/B aircraft from
Belgium. All of the aircraft, procured in the late 1970s, have undergone a
mid-life modernization by Lockheed Martin, the manufacturer of the F-16.
"Officials from Jordan and Belgium are in the midst of finalizing a deal
which will result in the sale of nine Belgian F-16s to Jordan," the U.S.
defense consultant Forecast International said on Jan. 20.
