TEL AVIV [MENL] -- The Israeli unilateral ceasefire in the Gaza Strip
resulted in the abortion of a major operation against Hamas's military
infrastructure.
Military sources said the Israel Army was forced to cancel at the last
minute an operation to destroy Hamas weapons bunkers in the Gaza Strip. The
sources said the operation targeted bunkers full of rockets, missiles,
mortars and anti-tank weapons.
"We had identified a series of bunkers that contained a huge amount of
Hamas weapons that escaped our air strikes during Operation Cast Lead," a
military source said. "We prepared troops and special munitions to destroy
these bunkers."
