Saudis Bolster Military In Shi'ite Province
ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia, concerned over growing Iranian-sponsored
unrest, has increased military deployment in the oil-rich Eastern Province.
Officials said the Saudi military has overseen an effort to pour fresh
troops and equipment in the Eastern Province amid rising Shi'ite unrest,
believed aided by neighboring Iran. They said the effort was being overseen
by Defense Minister Prince Salman, who arrived in the province on March 26
for an unprecedented five-day visit.
