U.S. Sees Syrian Opposition Unity

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- After months of appeals, the United States has
determined that the opposition to Syrian President Bashar Assad was moving
toward a coalition.
Officials said the administration of President Barack Obama has assessed
that major Syrian opposition and rebel groups were taking genuine steps for
cooperation and coordination. They said the effort would encourage
international aid to the opposition, including the transfer of weapons.
