Iran Develops AAM
NICOSIA [MENL] -- Iran has reported the development of an advanced
air-to-air missile.
Officials said the Defense Ministry has completed the design and
development of an indigenous air-to-air missile. They said the AAM, directed
by an infrared sensor, contained a range of 40 kilometers.
Iranian military spokesman Brig. Gen. Hassan Shahsafi said the AAM,
which he would not identify, would undergo its first fullscale test on Jan.
26. Shahsafi said the missile would be directed to track and destroy an air
target.
