Israel Sustains Armored Programs
TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel, seeking to preserve thousands of jobs, has
decided to sustain major armored military programs.
Industry sources said the Defense Ministry has allocated about $15
million to maintain production of the Merkava Mk-4 main battle tank and the
Namer armored personnel carrier. They said the budget would enable Israeli
contractors in the two armored projects to maintain their work force in
2012.
