PA Launches Crackdown In North

RAMALLAH [MENL] -- In an unprecedented move, the Palestinian Authority has
launched a crackdown on Fatah gunmen in the West Bank.
The PA has deployed hundreds of officers to raid suspected insurgency
strongholds in the northern West Bank. On late May 5, PA National Security
Forces and the Preventive Security Apparatus arrested at least 60 people,
many of them from the ruling Fatah movement as well as PA officers.
