U.S. OKs $70m For Iron Dome
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The administration of President Barack Obama intends to
transfer $70 million to help Israel develop and produce the Iron Dome
missile and rocket defense system.
Officials said the administration has deemed Iron Dome, developed by
Israel's state-owned Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, an effective
missile and rocket defense platform. They said the administration, with
plans to relay the $70 million by October 2012, was also prepared to mull
additional aid during the following year to help Israel produce up to 13
batteries.
