Gulf States Seek U.S. Air Defense
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Three Middle East states were preparing to order air
defense systems from the United States.
Industry sources said Iraq, Oman and the United Arab Emirates were
discussing the U.S. export of the Avenger air defense system by Boeing. They
said contracts for the mobile system, based on the Stinger surface-to-air
missile, could be signed over the next year.
