Amid Tension, Kuwait Parliament Suspended

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Kuwait, amid rising tension, has suspended parliament.
In what was termed an unprecedented move, Emir Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah
ordered the suspension of the National Assembly. The June 18 decree called
for parliament to halt operations for at least a month until the legislative
body agreed to coordinate with the government.
