Israel Reels Under Mortar Barrage

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel has come under another heavy mortar and rocket
attack from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
Scores of mortars and rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into
southwestern Israel on Aug. 5. The barrage was believed to have been in
response to an Israel Air Force strike of a motorcyclist in the southern
Gaza city of Rafah in which a senior insurgency operative was killed.
