Israeli Firm Eyed For Privatization

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- The government has again been examining the prospect of
privatizing a troubled state-owned defense major.
The Defense Ministry and Finance Ministry were preparing to consider
offers by several companies for the purchase of parts of Israel Military
Industries. IMI, supported by government grants for the last 20 years, was
bracing for major manpower cutbacks to facilitate privatization.
