LONDON [MENL] -- A major European defense contractor has offered an advanced
air weapon to Gulf Arab states.
MBDA, Europe's missile house, has been briefing Gulf Cooperation Council
states on its new air munition. The company has asserted that the CMP-1000,
a 1,000-kilogram bomb shaped like a bottle, was superior to the U.S.-origin
Mk-84 bomb, a standard in NATO.
"This is this commitment which has maintained the group's position as a
global player in the missile sector since its formation in 2001," MBDA chief
executive officer Antoine Bouvier said.
