Iran Says S-300 Alternative Nearly Ready

NICOSIA [MENL] -- Iran has asserted its readiness to deploy an alternative
to the Russian-origin S-300 air defense system.
Officials said the Iranian Defense Ministry has nearly completed
development of a long-range indigenous air defense system designed as an
alternative to the S-300PMU1. They said the new system, Bavar-373, would be
deployed by early 2013.
