WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The State Department hired Libyans to protect the U.S.
consulate that was attacked and burned by an alleged Al Qaida-aligned force.
Officials said the State Department signed a contract with a British
company to protect the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. They said Blue
Mountain Group was a private security firm that oversaw the recruitment and
employment of Libyans assigned to operate the security gate of the
consulate.
