Israel Ready For Enhanced APS
TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel has approved a project to develop an advanced
variant of a system to protect against anti-tank strikes.
The Defense Ministry has allocated a budget for the development of a
second-generation active protection system, designed to stop attacks on main
battle tanks and armored personnel carriers. Officials said the ministry
would stage a competition that would include rival APS developers, both of
which are state-owned defense companies.
