CAIRO [MENL] -- Egypt has determined that its security force was a leading
target of Palestinian militias in the Sinai Peninsula.
Officials said the Interior Ministry has assessed that Egyptian police
and other security agencies in Sinai were being attacked every few days by
Al Qaida and Palestinian militias. They said the ministry has determined
that 2012 was turning into the most violent year for Sinai, which borders
Israel and the Gaza Strip.
