TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's intelligence community has determined that the
Al Qaida-aligned network in the Gaza Strip was hurt by the assassination of
its commanders.
The open source arm of the intelligence community asserted that the
killing of Hisham Saydani in an Israeli air strike on Oct. 12 marked a
significant blow to the Al Tawhid W'al Jihad as well as the new Shura
Council. In a report, the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center said
the death of Saydani and his aides eliminated operatives who flouted Hamas
efforts to maintain a ceasefire with Israel.
