Greece Deploys New AEW Aircraft

ATHENS [MENL] -- Greece has introduced an advanced airborne early-warning
and control aircraft into service.
The Hellenic Air Force has deployed the AEW aircraft by Brazil's
Embraer. The Embraer-145 aircraft was inaugurated in
a ceremony on Feb. 12 at Greece's Elefsis Air Force Base.
The Embraer-145 aircraft contained an AEW radar by Sweden's Saab. Saab's
Erieye radar was manufactured in cooperation with several Greek defense
contractors.
