U.S. Steps Up Intervention In Sinai
CAIRO [MENL] -- The United States has resumed high-level intervention in an
effort to quell the Al Qaida-inspired revolt in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.
The administration of President Barack Obama, fresh from reelection, has
been sending senior officials to plan new U.S. military and security aid to
help restore order in Sinai. On Nov. 13, U.S. Assistant Defense Secretary
Derek Chollet led a delegation meant to enhance border and internal
security.
