AMMAN [MENL] -- Jordan has been struggling with renewed violent unrest aimed
at the security forces.
For the first time in years, suspected Islamist insurgents have been
attacking police stations in the Hashemite kingdom. At least one person was
killed and 17 seriously injured in armed clashes over two days of protests
in mid-November in which King Abdullah was called upon to abdicate.
