Assad Sustains Manpower Shortage
LONDON [MENL] -- President Bashar Assad, losing control over much of the
north, has been threatened by a shortage in military manpower, a report
said.
The British consultant Oxford Analytica asserted that the Syrian Army,
comprised mostly of Sunnis, was no longer able to hold on to much of the
country. In a report, Oxford said the Assad regime feared massive
defections by Sunni soldiers and has imposed draconian measures.
