Syrian Revolt Ready To Intensify

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States expected an escalation in the Sunni revolt in Syria.
U.S. ambassador to Damascus, Robert Ford, said the Sunni rebels were making gains against
the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad. But Ford warned that Assad's military remained
cohesive and capable of major assaults on the rebels.
