Senate Dems Press Obama On Syria
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The Democratic leadership in Congress has begun to
press President Barack Obama to intensify the U.S. campaign to oust the
regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
A leading Senate Democrat has initiated a drive for greater U.S.
intervention in Syria that would include air strikes on military targets.
Senate Armed Services Committee chairman Carl Levin joined in a letter to
Obama that urged the president to force Assad to give up power.
