U.S.-Backed Force In Lebanon Hits Crisis
NICOSIA [MENL] -- A U.S.-financed security force in Lebanon has been rocked
by the worst crisis in decades.
The Internal Security Forces, with 8,500 members, has been struck by a
leadership vacuum amid resignations and assassinations of key officials.
ISF, financed and equipped by the United States, has been struggling to find
a permanent successor to outgoing chief Maj. Gen. Ashraf Rifi.
