UN Warns Of Insurgency In W. Sahara
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United Nations has warned of an Al Qaida-aligned
revolt in the disputed area of Western Sahara.
In a report, UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon said the Al Qaida-linked
war in Mali could spread to neighboring states, including Algeria and
Western Sahara. The report said Al Qaida operatives were infiltrating
Western Sahara, 80 percent of which is controlled by Morocco, from Mali.
