U.S. Sees Long-Term Al Qaida Threat
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States, in what appears to be a revised
assessment, now sees Al Qaida as a long-term threat.
The Defense Department has concluded that Al Qaida would remain a threat
to the United States for up to another 20 years. The Pentagon said the
threat would require U.S. military and intelligence operations throughout
the world, including unmanned aerial vehicle strikes in Yemen.
