Rebel Militia Raises Profile In Syria

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- A rebel militia has raised its profile in the war
against Syrian President Bashar Assad.
A leading U.S. analyst said the Brigades of the Descendants of the
Prophet was becoming a prominent rebel force in the Sunni revolt in Syria.
Analyst Nicholas Heras said the brigades, known in Arabic as Alwiya Ahfad
A-Rasoul, established units throughout Syria since it was founded in July
2012.
