ANKARA [MENL] -- Most Kurdish insurgents were said to have left Turkey as
part of a reconciliation agreement launched in May 2013.
Turkish sources said the intelligence community has assessed that at
least 50 percent of fighters from the Kurdish Workers Party, known as PKK,
left the country from neighboring Iraq and Syria. They said the PKK
departure was continuing despite daily tension that at some points erupted
in clashes between the insurgents and army.
