Israel Mulls EU Partnership
JERUSALEM [MENL] -- Israel has been examining the feasibility of signing a
technology partnership with the European Union amid its targeting of Jewish
communities in the West Bank.
Officials said the government of Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin
Netanyahu appeared divided over the prospect of signing the so-called
Horizon 2020 amid EU sanctions on products from Jewish communities the West
Bank and most of Jerusalem. Under the seven-year project, Israel would join
an EU effort to develop dual-use technology that would result in 1 billion
euro in grants.
