U.S. Could Deploy In E. Med
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States might be forced to transfer its naval
assets from the Gulf to the eastern Mediterranean, regarded as the next
energy flashpoint, a report said.
The American Enterprise Institute asserted that the U.S. military could
be ordered to protect the new energy infrastructure of Washington's allies
in the eastern Mediterranean. In a report, the institute cited tension over
the development of natural gas reserves between Turkey as well as Israel and
the Republic of Cyprus.
