Egypt Opposition Calls For U.S. Aid Halt

CAIRO [MENL] -- A leading opposition movement has called for the end of U.S.
aid to Egypt as well as the cancellation of its peace treaty with Israel.
The opposition Tamarod movement has posted an online petition that
called for Egypt to reject the $1.55 billion in annual U.S. aid, about 90
percent for Egypt's military and security forces. The petition also
rejected the U.S.-sponsored Egyptian peace treaty with Israel.
