UK Probe Of Saudi Ties Criticized
LONDON [MENL] -- A British parliamentary investigation of military relations
with Bahrain and Saudi Arabia has been attacked for its secrecy.
Human rights groups said a House of Commons probe into London's ties
with Manama and Riyad has been marred by closed-door hearings with major
arms suppliers. They cited a meeting by parliament's Foreign Affairs Select
Committee with the heads of BAE Systems, one of the biggest Western
contractors to the Saudi kingdom.
