ANKARA [MENL] -- Prime Minister Recep Erdogan, fearing a coup against his
Islamist regime, has intensified surveillance of Turkey's economic sector.
Turkish sources said Erdogan has used the intelligence community to
monitor the opposition as well as the financial sector. They said the prime
minister, facing the worst unrest in the more than a decade-long Islamist
rule, suspected links between the opposition and the business community.
