WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. military has been drafting development and
procurement programs to counter a Hizbullah offensive.
Officials said the Joint Chiefs of Staff have been revising military
programs to ensure effectiveness against Hizbullah and other
non-conventional forces. They said this included revisions to the Future
Combat Systems, a $159 billion program criticized in Congress as too
expensive.
"Hizbullah relies on low visibility and prepared defenses," a U.S. Army
briefing on FCS said. "FCS counters with sensors and robotics to maneuver
out of contact."
