Many In Fatah Worried Over War With Hamas

RAMALLAH [MENL] -- Many in the ruling Fatah movement appear uneasy over the
prospect of another war with Hamas -- this time in the West Bank.
Palestinian sources said scores of Fatah operatives, including those in
senior positions, have urged the Palestinian Authority to reconcile with
Hamas. The Fatah members warned against a sustained crackdown on the Islamic
movement, which they said has been directed by the United States.
"We are falling into the same trap as we did in the Gaza Strip," a
senior Fatah official said. "We are allowing outsiders to determine our
agenda."
