Iran Requires New Missile Technology
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Iran has exhausted technology from North Korea and
would require advanced tools to enhance Teheran's ballistic missile program.
A U.S.-Russian panel asserted that Iran has exhausted the potential of
North Korea's No-Dong intermediate-range ballistic missile. The panel, which
began studying Iran in late 2007, determined that Iran could no longer
increase the lift capability of the liquid-fuel No-Dong rocket motor.
"Iran's exploitation of the increased lift capability of the No-Dong
rocket motor is now essentially at the end of the line," the report by the
panel said. "Further advances in Iran's ability to produce rockets of
greater range and payload will require new and major technological advances
beyond those it has so far demonstrated."
