France, Iraq Conclude Defense Accord

BAGHDAD [MENL] -- France and Iraq have signed a defense cooperation accord
that included training and arms transfers.
Officials said the memorandum of understanding was signed on July 2 in
Baghdad during the visit of French Prime Minister Francois Fillon. They said
the MoU would pave the way for Iraqi procurement of French helicopters and
other weapons platforms.
