CAIRO [MENL] -- Algeria has agreed to participate in a $10
billion trans-Saharan natural gas pipeline to Europe.
Officials said Algeria would become one of three countries to operate
the 4,000-kilometer gas pipeline, which would extend from Nigeria to Europe.
They said the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline, an agreement for which was signed
on July 3, would begin in the Niger Delta in Nigeria and move through Niger
and Algeria.
